Top property lawyer joins Ward Hadaway | 26 February 10
A KEY advisor on one of the North’s flagship property developments has joined law firm Ward Hadaway.
Brian Green (pictured) has been advising on the 22-acre Spinningfields site in central Manchester since its inception in 1999.
Spinningfields is one of the largest and most prestigious developments undertaken in the North over the past decade.
The site has been hailed as Manchester’s Canary Wharf and is home to a range of financial and professional services firms, as well as upmarket shops, restaurants and apartments.
As well as working on Spinningfields, Brian has more than 25 years’ experience in the commercial property sector.
He has advised on shopping centre and supermarket developments across the country as well as on multi-million pound property portfolio acquisitions and management.
Brian joins Ward Hadaway’s Leeds office as a consultant after 15 years as a partner at law firm Hammonds in Leeds.
He said: “I am really excited to be joining Ward Hadaway – it is a firm which is really going places and has genuine ambition and drive to grow its practice and provide the very best service for clients.
“It also has a highly experienced property team with some very well-respected people on board so I am looking forward to working with my new colleagues.”
Andrew Hoyle, senior partner for Ward Hadaway’s Leeds office, said: “We are delighted to welcome Brian to the team.
“Brian’s established reputation in partner-led development work speaks for itself and he adds substantial experience to the growing property department.
“We are delighted at the growth the department has managed to achieve in such a difficult market and look forward to seeing further growth as the market improves.”
Ward Hadaway’s Leeds office has grown rapidly since opening in the summer of 2008.
It is now home to 12 partners and their teams and offers expert partner-led advice in areas including property, construction, employment, insolvency and corporate recovery, property litigation, health and safety, company and commercial law, corporate finance, intellectual property and EU and competition issues.
