Gemma joins the team at Ward Hadaway Leeds | 05 February 10
THE employment law team at Ward Hadaway has been further boosted by the recruitment of solicitor Gemma Sherbourne (below).
Gemma has over five years’ specialist experience in employment law and joins Ward Hadaway’s Leeds office from Lupton Fawcett.
She has provided employment advice for a variety of clients from small owner-managed businesses through to large national PLCs.
Gemma is experienced in dealing with both contentious and non-contentious issues, including acting on a variety of Employment Tribunal claims and providing corporate and property support in relation to TUPE issues, and drafting warranties and indemnities.
In her spare time, Gemma sings with the Leeds Philharmonic Society.
Gemma said: “Ward Hadaway has an excellent reputation for employment law work and it is exciting to be joining a firm which is investing in Yorkshire and really growing its presence here.”
Gemma’s appointment follows the recruitment of a trio of employment law specialists by Ward Hadaway at the end of last year.
She joins solicitor Charlotte Ashton at the law firm’s Leeds office, which now has an eight-strong team of full-time employment law specialists and carries out work for household names in sectors including retail, logistics and sportswear.
Associate Damian Robson and solicitor Mark McKeever recently joined the employment law team at Ward Hadaway’s Newcastle office.
Joe Thornhill, partner and joint head of employment law at Ward Hadaway, said: “Gemma is a great addition to our team in Leeds and I am sure her experience and expertise will be of great benefit to our growing list of clients.
“We have real strength in depth at both of our offices and with over 30 specialist lawyers in the team, we can deal with any employment issue quickly and cost-effectively.”
