Official seal of approval for Leeds office | 26 March 09
LAW firm Ward Hadaway has received an official seal of approval for the quality of its Leeds operation.
Inspectors from the International Office for Standards visited the firm’s Wellington Street offices to assess them for inclusion on Ward Hadaway’s coveted ISO9001 accreditation.
ISO9001 is an internationally recognised standard for quality management systems and to be accredited, organisations have to follow strict protocols for a range of matters including file management, internal file audits, staff training and regular client reporting and client review meetings.
Ward Hadaway became the first law firm in the North and only the second law firm in the UK to achieve ISO9001 in 1994 for its Newcastle operation and has retained its accreditation every year since then.
Now the firm’s Leeds office has been recommended for inclusion on Ward Hadaway’s ISO9001 certification, less than nine months after opening its doors in July 2008.
Andrew Hoyle, lead partner for Ward Hadaway’s Leeds office, said: “This is a real achievement for everyone in our Leeds operation and a valuable indication of the high standards of our quality management systems.
“The inspector who visited our offices commented on how impressed he had been with all of those he had met, adding that the standards of professionalism and the attitude displayed were a real credit to the firm.”
The Managing Partner of Ward Hadaway, Jamie Martin, said: “Ever since we opened up in Leeds last summer, we have been working hard to ensure that we deliver client services to the highest standards possible so it is gratifying to find that independent observers have recognised this and that this accreditation has been achieved so quickly.”
Ward Hadaway now has nine partners and their teams at its Leeds office with expertise in EU and competition law, construction, commercial property, property litigation, employment, IT and intellectual property, healthcare, insolvency and corporate recovery.
Together with its operation in Newcastle, the firm employs more than 400 people.
