Fiona Wharton
Associate, Charities Team
Fiona is an associate in the Commercial Department where she specialises in advising charity, not for profit and social enterprise clients. She has a wide-ranging experience of advising charities both as a private practice lawyer and previously as the in-house lawyer to Comic Relief in London. She advises on all issues relating to formation registration, governance and trustee or director duties, re-structuring organisations and reviewing governing documents, mergers, trading, fundraising, grant agreements and liaising with the Charity Commission. She provides bespoke training for trustees and directors if required. Fiona is a member of the Charity Law Association and Institute of Fundraising.
Heather Markham
Associate, Property
Heather is an associate in the commercial property team and carries out a variety of property-related work including landlord and tenant lease work, property due diligence on business transactions and property aspects of business sales and purchases. Heather advises her charitable clients in connection with acquisitions, disposals and landlord and tenant work.
Sharon Mathieson
Associate, Property Litigation
Sharon is an associate in the property litigation team, advising clients on non-contentious and contentious property matters in relation to termination of business tenancies, tenancy dilapidations, lease renewals, possession and forfeiture. Sharon also advises clients on dealing with contentious matters including interpretation of property contracts, trespass, adverse possession, breach of covenant and disputes on easements.
Victoria Armstrong
Solicitor, Property
Victoria is a solicitor in the commercial property team and advises on a wide range of property matters and transactions including landlord and tenant matters, acquisitions, disposals, lettings in relation to property within the public sector. Victoria has experience in advising charities in relation to taking and granting leases, disposals and acquisitions.
