Our bursary scheme
Ward Hadaway financially supports law students during their studies.
The firm has teamed up with Northumbria University to provide £1,000 per year for two years to two of the best students towards the cost of their studies in the second and third years of their Law Exempting degrees.
During each of those years, they will also carry out four weeks' paid work experience at our offices on Newcastle's Quayside and in the heart of Leeds city centre where they will experience every facet of life in a modern, fast-moving full service law firm and gain a genuine insight into how the law works in practice.
The students are also guaranteed a place at one of our assessment centres and a final interview.

Ward Hadaway also has strong relationships with other universities in the North-East. The firm gives annual prizes to the authors of the best student dissertations on the MSc Real Estate, BA (Hons) Town Planning courses at Newcastle University and on the MSc in Estate Management course at Northumbria University.
The Sue Watts Memorial Prize
This prize is awarded to the student achieving the highest marks each year in the Intellectual Property/Information Technology module on Northumbria University's LLB degree course.
It is awarded in memory of Sue Watts, who built up and developed the IP/IT unit at Ward Hadaway before her untimely death in 1999.
