Four promoted to partnership at Ward Hadaway

FOUR lawyers have been promoted to the position of Partner at UK Top 75 law firm Ward Hadaway.

Associates Andrew Evans, Bill Goodwin, Heather Markham and Sharon Mathieson are now all Partners at the firm, which has offices in Newcastle, Leeds and Manchester.

Andrew Evans is a member of Ward Hadaway’s Private Client team and advises clients in connection with Wills, Probate and Estate Administration, Trusts and Trust Administration and Powers of Attorney.

He also deals with all aspects of estate planning for clients including those with business interests and he is a full member of the Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Bill Goodwin specializes in intellectual property matters with particular expertise in relation to the development and exploitation of new technologies, trade mark law and information technology.

A solicitor with over eight years’ specialist experience advising businesses on developing, protecting and successfully exploiting new technologies, Bill is also qualified as a Registered Trade Mark Attorney.

Heather Markham is a property lawyer who specializes in commercial property matters including advising on all aspects of landlord and tenant matters, and the acquisition, development and disposal of commercial property, particularly in the supermarket retail sector.

Heather has advised clients on a diverse range of commercial development schemes, including those for office, retail and industrial uses. She also acts for a wide range of charitable organizations/charity clients in relation to property matters and community use projects.

Sharon Mathieson specializes in property litigation and acts for a wealth of clients across the retail/supermarket, public and investor sectors.

As well as advising commercial landlords and tenants on their dilapidations, service charges and other leasehold related claims, Sharon also advises on issues including property-related professional negligence, interpretation of property contracts, trespass and restrictive covenants, assisting clients with their overall property strategies.
