Christopher is an experienced draughtsperson and leads the award winning technical plans team within Ward Hadaway. Christopher's broad based knowledge of the Land Use sector has given him the ability to develop this Mapping Service. The service is unique to the UK legal sector and gives clients an instant visual understanding of any potential legal issues and site constraints by showing them in a clear format. The service helps clients save time, effort and money by identifying problems early on to enable viable solutions to be found so that projects can proceed.

Christopher specialises in providing and producing accurate scale drawings and maps for inclusion in legal and planning submissions and other reports; the transcribing of scale plans onto maps and other drawings; the drawing of title, conveyancing and other plans for inclusion in legal documents. In addition, he deals with complex site plans for many of the region’s major house builders and land owners.

Experience

Christopher is experienced in producing composite Land Registry title overlay plans. It can be difficult for a solicitor to visualise or understand how a site is made up and then explain this to their client. A clear, precise and accurate plan, detailing the individual Land Registry Titles and any other information that the solicitor thinks relevant, could help.

Christopher has been producing legal overlay and composite plans for Ward Hadaway since 2001 and has over 25 years’ experience of producing accurate scale drawings using AutoCAD and other electronic drawing packages. He has the ability to produce maps manually and can offer a tailor made service for the firm’s clients. This includes transcribing multiple Land Registry title plans onto  current Ordnance Survey maps, also adding contract/transfer red lines, proposed layouts, adopted highways, utilities and easements/wayleaves to give an overall and instant visual accompaniment to a legal document.

He is also experienced in the measurement and photographic recording of sites, and the processing of this information for plans and photographic evidence to produce site inspection documentation.

He is regularly involved with researching the planning history of sites, by investigating planning applications, historical maps and records.
